Twenty-three years ago, I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Reading. I was a classroom teacher for 12 years before accepting a position as a Literacy Leader. While working as a Literacy Leader, I re-enrolled at the University of Texas at El Paso pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. I graduated with my Master’s degree in December of 2004. Shortly thereafter, I was hired as an Assistant Principal. I served as an assistant principal for 4 years before having the honor of being selected as the principal of Kohlberg Elementary.
